  • There are many organizations and companies that clean up water removal. Some notable ones are the Red Cross, FEMA, and the Water Company. Each of these organizations have their own protocols for how they handle water removal and drying. Generally speaking, once the water has been removed, the area will be dried and sanitized. If there is any damage to property or belongings, it will also be repaired.

Water removal is typically the responsibility of the property owner or their designated contractor. There are a few exceptions, such as if the water came from a public utility or if it was discharged illegally. In most cases, the city or municipality will bill the property owner for the cost of water removal and any other associated damages.
