Are trash compactors worth it?

I want to install trash compactors. Are these worth it?

  • It depends on how much you recycle. If you recycle diligently, a trash compactor might not be worth the investment. However, if you don't recycle or only recycle occasionally, a trash compactor will pay for itself in the amount of space it saves in your garbage can or dumpster. Also, consider how often your municipality picks up recycling and trash - if they only come once a week and your recyclables pile up but your trash doesn't because it's compacted, you'll still have to take the recyclables out to the curb on collection day.

There is no one definitive answer to this question. Trash compactors can be a great way to save space in your kitchen and reduce the amount of trash you produce, but they can also be expensive to install and maintain. Ultimately, the decision whether or not to install a trash compactor depends on your individual needs and budget.
