What should you not do when staging a house?

I am planning to stage a home. What should you not do when staging a house?

  • Don't overcrowd the space. It's important to give buyers a clear view of each room and its potential. Too much furniture or knickknacks will make a small room seem even smaller and a large room seem cluttered. Don't forget the bathrooms and kitchens. Kitchens should be clutter-free with all appliances hidden in cabinets, and Bathrooms should be sparkling clean with no evidence of use (except maybe a fresh bar of soap). Don't forget the outside. Make sure the lawn is mowed, the bushes trimmed, and any debris removed from the yard. Add some fresh flowers or plants to enhance the curb appeal.
